Episode 4

Pete Wicks travels to Northern Ireland to pick up 3 stray dogs and bring them back with him to Essex. He also meets Twinkle, a Shar Pei, who’s in constant pain and may need surgery.

Pete Wicks travels to Northern Ireland to find out about a scheme that Dogs Trust run there to try to save as many stray dogs as possible from unnecessary euthanasia in the council pounds. He meets 3 dogs who have been rescued from the council pound, but due to the lack of kennel space at the Dogs Trust centre in Northern Ireland, Pete takes them on the road trip of a lifetime back to Essex where they’ll hopefully find their forever homes.

But once the trio get to Essex, things are more difficult than they seem. The Dogs Trust staff try to help the three strays with all manner of troubles.

Pete also meets a Shar Pei called Twinkle who due to her breeding is suffering from a nasty condition called entropion - where her eye lid rolls inwards, and her eyelashes are scraping her eye. The vet team need to assess Twinkle to see if they can save her eye with surgery.

Meanwhile, a new arrival causes a shock as she’s found wandering the street very emaciated. Little Russo is just skin and bones and needs round the clock care to help bring her back from the brink.
