Melvin Odoom sits in: Lover's Rock Legend Carroll Thompson is the Rewind Selector!

Tuesday night is Rewind Selector night, where a musician, celebrity or Good Groove listener chooses the tracks that take them back to the dance floors of their youth. Tonight it's the turn of Carroll Thompson, affectionately known as the "Queen of Lovers Rock".

Carroll Thompson 'is one of the most influential voices in British reggae. Rising to prominence in the early 1980s with hits including I''m So Sorry', ''Simply in Love and the million-selling album 'Hopelessly in Love', she helped define the lovers rock sound and became one of its most enduring stars. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Carroll has worked with a remarkable range of artists including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Sade, Maxi Priest and Aswad. As well as her success as a singer, she's an acclaimed songwriter, producer, arranger and playwright whose music has featured in film and television, including 'The Crying Game'. Still performing to audiences around the world, Carroll continues to record and tour, appearing at major UK venues and festivals while celebrating the legacy and ongoing influence of lovers rock for new generations of fans. Her latest single is a cover of the Grover Washington Jr and Bill Wither's classic 'Just The Two of Us'.
