Episode 13

The remaining five cooks are challenged to create a two-course, canine-themed menu in celebration of the 135th anniversary of Crufts by Tom Shepherd, owner of Michelin-starred restaurant Upstairs.

It’s finals week, and the five remaining cooks continue to battle for the title. Over last three episodes of the series, the celebrities will be pushed to their culinary limits in their bid to become the champion.

First, they will be expected to take on a challenge like no other. To celebrate the 135th anniversary of the world's largest and most prestigious dog show, Crufts, at the NEC, the celebrities must cook a two-course meal for 50 guests, but at Michelin-star-level. Tom Shepherd, whose restaurant Upstairs in Lichfield earned a Michelin star within four months of opening, has designed a canine-themed menu for the event. One team will take on his main, which consists of a German shepherd's pie, while the other will have a decadent dog-bone-shaped dessert.

Then, it’s back to the MasterChef kitchen. Things get personal as the final five are set a brief that reminds them of a favourite holiday. With some of the celebrities' best food often being inspired by fond memories, the judges will want to see skill, flair, technique and imagination but above all be transported to each finalist’s special place.

At this stage of the competition, everything must be perfect, as any small mistake will cost one celebrity a place in the final four.
