Wild Horses

Verity Sharp is hot out of the gate with a selection of tracks inspired by, made from, and related to horses. Expect horse-hair harps and musical equine pilgrimages.

They’ve carried goods, pulled carts and ploughs, been cast into world wars and feature films, comforted hearts and ridden into sunsets… Since the ice ages and beyond, few animals have been as noble a companion and as bright an inspiration to the human soul as the horse. On the eve of the UN-declared World Horse Day, Late Junction turns hippophile as Verity Sharp presents a selection of tracks inspired by, made from, and related to horses. Expect the sound of a 13th-century Welsh horsehair harp and that of the morin khuur, a type of horsehair fiddle native to Mongolia. Plus, rollicking cowboy anthems and musical odes to mythological steeds.
