Three hours of classical sparkle

Sarah Walker chooses uplifting music to accompany your morning, whether you’re enjoying a quiet coffee or heading out into the outdoors.

This week, Sarah’s playlist takes in far away lands, boundless seascapes, and an endless maze of sun-washed streets.

There’ll be soaring, heart-melting harmonies from Rachmaninov, Mel Bonis conjures forgotten scenes of the Orient, while Saint-Saëns whisks us away into a world of mystery.

For this week’s Choral reflection, Sarah heads off to Latvia with ethereal music by Pēteris Vasks sung by the Latvian Radio Choir, and there’s also a chance to hear the shimmering textures of Debussy’s La Mer in full.

Plus, music to capture the golden drift of long summer afternoons by Agustín Barrios…

A Tandem Production for BBC Radio 3.
