USA, now led by former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, reached the last 16 as hosts in 1994. Despite reaching the knockout stage in four of the past six tournaments, they have only managed nine wins in 37 World Cup matches.
Paraguay have reached the World Cup for the first time since 2010, when they reached a maiden quarter-final before being eliminated by eventual champions Spain. This is the ninth time they have qualified for the tournament.
