Claire McCollum's Faith Journey
Aled Jones is in Belfast with fellow presenter Claire McCollum to hear about the people, places and hymns that have shaped her life and faith.
Aled Jones travels to Belfast to join fellow broadcaster and Songs of Praise presenter Claire McCollum as she reflects on her journey of faith and the people, places and favourite hymns that have helped her along the way.
Their journey begins in Jordanstown on the shores of Belfast Lough, Claire’s happy place, where she discusses her quiet faith, the importance of family and how she finds God’s presence in the beauty of creation.
Returning to her home parish, St Patrick’s, Claire shares deeply personal memories of growing up in the church, including teaching Sunday school and getting married there nearly 25 years ago. In the Garden of Remembrance, she and her mother reflect on the life of her beloved father and the resilience found through faith and prayer during his years living with Parkinson’s disease.
From the iconic Titanic slipway, Claire looks back on over a decade on Songs of Praise and recounts the most impactful stories of her career, including the Irish potato farmer who put his faith and farming knowledge into action in Kenya. Claire also shares hymns chosen personally to reflect how faith has shaped her life.
