Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2 played by BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, Hana Chang

Linton Stephens introduces an afternoon of specially made recordings including music from Leipzig and chamber performances from the BBC Radio 3 New Generation artists.

Linton Stephens brings you an afternoon of exclusive music-making including a week-long focus on Leipzig, a pivotal centre in Western classical music. Dutch piano duo Lucas and Arthur Jussen join forces with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra to play Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos in D minor, and the orchestra will also perform Bartók's fantastical, folkloric The Wooden Prince.
Elsewhere in the programme, there is exclusively recorded music from the three of the current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists. Cellist Sterling Elliott plays Amy Beach, violinist Hana Chang joins the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to play Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2, and flautist Elizaveta Ivanova plays Guilloume Connesson.
Across the week, there is also an exploration of music composed for the bassoon. Today, Stephen Hough's Trio for flute and bassoon and piano (Was mit den Traenen geschieht) is played by Thomas Hancox, Amy Harman and Stephen Hough himself.
