It started with the seizure of illegal cigarettes hidden in the back room of a minimart in Rochdale and ended with cocaine being bought over the counter from a shop in the West Midlands.
Over a year, BBC news investigated the crime happening in plain sight on high streets across the country and, in the process, exposed the crime gangs exploiting the vulnerable and setting up shop in Britain.
