After the US deadline passed for the Kremlin to agree a ceasefire in Ukraine, Donald Trump is expected to meet Vladimir Putin face-to-face for the first time since 2019. Given reports that Washington is poised to bilaterally agree a ceasefire deal allowing Russia to retain occupied territory, are we closer than ever to a frozen conflict without a political resolution?
