Following the death of the king of US tabloid television, another chance to see Stephen Sackur’s 2014 encounter with the late Jerry Springer. Springer’s TV show specialised in dysfunctional relationships and sex, his guests cursed, threw chairs and sometimes fought. Critics called it cynical and manipulative TV, but it made him famous and rich.
