ChristmasYou are in: North Yorkshire > Christmas > Revisiting the resolutions ![]() What's your new year's resolution? Revisiting the resolutionsBy Carole Green It's nearly the end of the year which means it's almost time to try remembering the words of Auld Lang Syne and formulating those all too often ignored new year's resolutions. Every year we make new year resolutions. Rash promises about the year to come that all too often betray some idealistic hopes that really should be kept to oneself. Perhaps you voiced yours while sitting in a pub with some friends on New Year's Eve. Or maybe they were all about the realization that over the festive period you've eaten enough food to sustain a small village for a month. Whatever the motivation, just how good are you at sticking to what you've promised? It's probably a bit late to cross the Gobi desert with a fridge, or some other kitchen appliance that needs to see the world, but there's still time to get in a few sessions at the gym. Perhaps you decided 2008 was the year you'd have more fun; have a night on the town when you want rather than wait for an offer to look after the kids, see more live music, go to the theatre... We asked round the BBC Radio York office to see what new year's resolutions were being made: as well as the usual ones - stop smoking, get more exercise and eat healthily - there were a couple of more unusual aspirations. To decorate the bathroom was one and to pay off and cut up the credit cards was another! So how have you done in 2008 and what are your hopes for 2009? last updated: 31/12/2008 at 17:51 Have Your SayWhat was your resolution for last year and have you made any for 2009?
