Festive tipples

Apparently the Queen's favourite drink is Dubonnet and Gin! But what does it taste like? Adam Tomlinson invited two bartenders into the studio to mix it and they had a few more ideas for Christmas cocktails... Plus plenty of voluteers to try them!

The Godfather

1 shot Amaretto
1 shot premium bourbon
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Maraschino cherry juice to sweeten (optional)

Brandy Alexander

1 ½ shots Metaxa (Greek distilled wine/brandy)
½ shot chocolate liquer
25 ml cream
25 ml milk
Ground nutmeg to garnish

The Mulberry

1 shot raspberry vodka
½ shot cherry brandy
50 ml cranberry juice
Generous squeeze of fresh lime juice
Flamed orange zest to garnish

Honey Dew (non alcoholic)

Generous squeeze of fresh lime juice
6 mint leaves
10 ml honey
5 ml ginger gomme puree (blended stem ginger in sugar syrup)
150 ml apple juice
Mint sprig to garnish

One's tipple - The Queen's favourite

1/3 gin
2/3 Dubonnet or red vermouth
Twist of lemon

Have a very merry Christmas!

With thanks to Nick and Oli from the Living Room in York.
