BTS, Sabrina Carpenter, and K-Pop Demon Hunters were among some of the artists winning big at the American Music Awards on Monday night.

Sabrina Carpenter came away with three awards, including album of the year and best pop album for Man's Best Friend, as well as best female artist.

There was also three wins for the singing voices behind K-Pop Demon Hunters, EJAE, Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna.

They won best single for Golden, best vocal performance, and best pop song, while EJAE added a fourth win with best soundtrack for KPop Demon Hunters.

But it was K-pop superstars BTS who took home the award for artist of the year, which is seen as the ceremony's biggest prize and is voted for by fans.

It comes just months after the band returned from a four year break, and during their first world tour since 2019.

BTS beat artists including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga in the artist category, as well as Harry Styles, Tame Impala and PinkPantheress in the song category.

Leader of BTS, RM addressed their huge fan base during the acceptance speech, saying: "Armys, we did it once again!"

"Since this is a fan-voted award, our biggest thanks and gratitude, as always, go to Armys all over the world."

Swifties may be disappointed to hear that while Taylor was up for eight awards, she didn't come away with any wins this year.

She still holds the record for the most AMA wins overall, with a massive total of 40 during her career so far.
