Dumfries and Galloway Council is hoping that parts of a town hall which was shut due to safety fears will be reopened within the next week.
The 130-year-old Lockerbie Town Hall was closed to the public after structural problems were discovered.
Safety concerns were raised following an inspection by steeplejacks.
The council said it would only reopen any sections of the property to the public after consent from its building control service.
