Yorkshire Water issued a ban on using tap water after high levels of bacteria were discovered
A ban on drinking tap water without first boiling it in parts of South Yorkshire has been lifted after six days.
Yorkshire Water said its supply to some 3,600 properties in Thorne near Doncaster was now safe to drink.
A ban on using water was put in place on Friday after bacteria - later discovered to be E.Coli - was found.
The firm said contamination had been identified, isolated, and following testing, was no longer present.

Charlie Haysom, from Yorkshire Water said: "I'd like to reassure residents that the water in Thorne and Moorends is now safe to drink again.
"We've put several physical barriers in place to prevent this external source from causing a similar issue again.
"We've had several clear sample results and Public Health England agree that is safe to drink the water in the area without having to boil it first."
The company has said it will write to those affected to issue goodwill payments of £30.
