    Club owner Acun Ilicali has spoken to fans from the balcony, telling them he knew straight away that "this is my club".

    He said City had been written off this season, but added: "Were we the richest club? No. Did we have the most expensive players? No. But we had the best fans, and we did it."

    He told the cheering supporters: "And all the days passing made us stronger, all the problems we had made us stronger, when we had so many problems in the past four years you showed me such a lot that... nobody can stand in front of this club, I love you all."

    Captain Lewie Coyle has just spoken to a sea of fans from the balcony of Hull City Hall. He said: "There was nothing going to stop us."

    He also paid tribute to his late father, Chris Coyle.

    "To stand here as captain of my hometown club, it'll probably never ever kick in properly, but tens of thousands of people are celebrating this with us and it's amazing.

    "I've got my family right down there and a special man in the sky who's definitely watching down on me.

    "Life's short, grab those that are next to you, even if you're strangers, put your arms around one another, whether you're friends, you're family, grab them close to you and enjoy it."

    Speaking from the bus, manager Sergej Jakirovic has thanked the people of Hull and everyone who sent messages of "support and congratulations".

    He also said former managers Phil Brown and Steve Bruce sent him messages of support ahead of the game.

    He added: "If I look back at the last season, and someone said if we were in the play-offs, I’d have said ‘you are crazy.’

    “But this group of players, they are unbelievable, so we are very proud. They deserve everything.”

    Fans old and new are celebrating together today, as they await the arrival of the players in Queen Victoria Square.

    Paul Marsters, who was at the game on Saturday, is a lifelong City fan. “It’s still not sunk in yet,” he said of the Tigers' promotion.

    Fair play to this Southampton fan, who came out to celebrate the Tigers' success despite his club's disappointment at being kicked out of the play-offs over Spygate.

    Benjamin Memphis De La Cruz, who lives in Hull, said he does also follow City and has even pledged to get a Tigers tattoo if they win the Premier League.

    One thing at a time, but we'd love to hold him to that one.

    Jacob Anderson travelled to Wembley with a large group of friends who are hoping to reunite for today's celebrations.

    Describing the trip to Wembley, he said “the whole experience was unbelievable”.

    He added: “We went with the expectation of just enjoying ourselves, with the whole scenario going on with who we were playing being up in the air, but we were all happy to be there and the result helped massively.”

    Rachel Wilcock, who is celebrating with friends, said she found the Wembley experience “amazing and emotional”.

    Talking about her hopes for next season in the Premier League, she said: "I’m hoping Andy Robertson comes back.”

    The left-back played for the Tigers between 2014 and 2017 before joining Liverpool. He played his last game for the Reds on Sunday and Rachel is unlikely to be the only City fan who would love to welcome him back.

    Some of Hull City's long-standing fans are taking a moment to reflect on how far the club has come.

    Kevin Klein, 72, soaking up the atmosphere with his wife Anne, said: "We remember when we had to pass the bucket round to keep them going when they ran out of money.

    "But now it’s brilliant, we’ve got a great owner and a great manager, it’s nice to see them get some success.”

    The parade will begin on Ferensway, in Hull city centre, at 15:10 BST and will follow a circuit around north and east Hull before arriving back at Hull City Hall about an hour later, when the players will take to the balcony overlooking Queen Victoria Square.
