Ghosts: The Possession of Button House first-look image released

Ghosts: The Possession of Button House will be released in cinemas nationwide across the UK and Ireland on Friday 23 October 2026.

The feature length family adventure film is written by Ghosts stars, writers and creators Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Lolly Adefope, Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe also star.

Earlier this year, filming commenced on Ghosts: The Possession of Button House at West Horsley Place and at locations across the South East of England.

Simon Hynd (Motherland, Can You Keep a Secret?) directs the film, though the plot is still strictly under wraps. Alison Carpenter and Andy Brunskill serve as Producers. The creators/writers (also creators and stars of Yonderland and Bill, and the original stars of Horrible Histories), serve as Executive Producers alongside  Jill Forbes for Monumental, Eva Yates for BBC Film, Marie-Claire Benson and Emma Berkofsky for Lionsgate and Richard Acton for BBC Studios, who will distribute the film worldwide.

Lionsgate will release in the UK and Ireland and BBC Studios is handling global sales.
