It doesn't matter what you look like, what matters is how you and your friends can come together, teach each other different things, and make each other better people.

American actor and professional wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is the latest global superstar to sit in the famous yellow chair and read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, airing on Friday 17 July on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.

Known for playing 'Maui' in Disney’s Moana, as well as for starring in blockbuster films including Jumanji and Jungle Cruise, Dwayne will read Rock and Roll, written and illustrated by Ruby Amy Thompson.

Rock and Roll is a heartwarming story about connection, shared experiences and finding common ground. When two seemingly different characters spend time together, they discover unexpected similarities and learn from each other's unique perspectives. The story celebrates the idea that friendship can flourish when we embrace our differences while recognising the things that unite us.

Dwayne Johnson says: “Have you ever met two people who seem completely different but are actually more alike than you think? Take me for example, I try to be strong, I try to be confident, and I love a good adventure, and my friend, she looks nothing like me but she’s brave, she’s determined, she always stands up for herself.”

“It doesn't matter what you look like, what matters is how you and your friends can come together, teach each other different things, and make each other better people.”

Dwayne Johnson joins a long line of famous actors who have read for CBeebies Bedtime Story including Claire Foy, Pedro Pascal, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Felicity Jones, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, and Jason Momoa to name just a few. All episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer now.

Dwayne Johnson’s CBeebies Bedtime Story airs on CBeebies on Friday 17 July at 6.50pm and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
