Beat the Frog

The thing about new comedy nights is that if the most unfunny comic comes on you either have to leave or sit there making origami peacocks out of your beer mat until the next act comes on.

Well, thanks to the Frog and Bucket, those sort of nights will soon be a thing of the past as they invite the audience to Beat the Frog.

A spokesman for the club told us, "In the first half two of the best new comedians the circuit have to strut their stuff, and then in the second half the blood bath begins.

"The audience have the power. If at anytime the comedians aren’t floating the audience’s boat, they’ll see green, hear the hooter and they’ll have croaked it. If they’ve got what it takes and survive then it will be known for all time that they had what it takes to Beat the Frog."

Keeping an eye on proceedings and making sure that real frogs aren't beaten by gangs of amphibian abusers who've turned up to the wrong event, is Dan Nightingale.

Oh, nearly forgot the best bit. It’s free!
