Tellison on London Calling

Tellison

This lot have been making quirky guitar pop for a year and a half, mixing a healthy dose of knob-twiddling and computer fuzz into an equation of guitars and vocal harmonies...

With a far flung spectrum of influences ranging from Tony Williams to Pedro the Lion, Tellison unite through an ambition to have as much fun with music as to write meaningful songs.

The result is a debut album packed full of punches, with the longevity that so many other ensembles fail to muster.

In their 18-month career to date, the band members have built up an impressive collection of favourite moments.

The name playing the Barfly as one of the more insane: the band soon found themselves faced with a throng of fans singing all of the words to every song so loudly even the stage monitors were drowned out.

good-eggs

2007 has been an exciting year thus far. Along with their live shows, seeing the debut single, Reader, hit the shops has been another highlight. And the release of album, Contact Contact, next month will surely top the lot.

As all round good-eggs, band members Stephen, Peter Andrew, Henry and Ben divide musicianship equally between them, and with every one of them a singer, they're not exactly shy when it comes to banging out those harmonies.

For up to date information check out the Tellison website, myspace.com/tellison. There you'll find more songs, pics and a host of video lovelies (all links right).
