I think it was Carlos as he drove her to the winery so that she would be drunk and give up her article. Finally, when she said that she was going to give up her article Carlos said: "very well".
In addition, it's not a coincidence that the man from Madrid came to Rioseco and followed her. Someone must have told him about her location and it probably was Carlos.

It was Carlos because he was not a friend. It could be Jorge too, because I think he acts suspiciously.

He did bring Merche to the winery to make her drunk which caused her to decide not to continue the investigation. in addition as Ellie from England said, he said "muy bien" after Merche said she was going to quiet the investigation.

Es Carlos. El podría haber dicho al hombre de Madrid que Merche estaba con Ester in Rioseco y también que Merche luego salió para ir a las Canarias. Fue muy sospechoso que el hombre de Madrid (como Carlos) supo sobre los dos lugares. Y, también, él sonrió cuando Merche decidió terminar su investigación. Seguro, es él. O, a lo mejor le debo a Carlos una disculpa.

Carlos is already one of the bad guys. Merche said he worked for the company she is doing the article against. And his boss probably told him to make sure that she doesn't print the article... The boss is making money so he wants to keep making money!
