RochesterThe castle stands on one of the major crossings of the River Medway and was built in 1127 by William of Corbell, the Archbishop of Canterbury. It stands 113 feet high, and is a reminder of the history of Rochester, with its cobbled streets and nearby Cathedral. Help playing audio/video  Canterbury Cathedral. CanterburyThe Cathedral lies at the heart of this Roman city. You can see just how much work is being undertaken on the building, as part of the Save Canterbury Cathedral appeal, launched in 2006. Leeds CastleThe castle was listed in the Domesday Book and has been a Norman stronghold, a royal residence for six of England's medieval queens, and a retreat for the powerful and influential.
