Bristol's schools are being "strangled by the dead hand of bureaucracy", according to the former Chief Inspector of Schools, Chris Woodhead.
Over the last three months Woodhead has been in Bristol investigating what has gone wrong with the city's schools and what needs to be done to improve standards and performance. His controversial conclusions are presented in a special edition of Inside Out West. It's part of a week of features on the BBC in the West looking at the state of Bristol's education system. The city's community schools have been bottom of the national GCSE league table for two years.
