Fighting for Finlay

A local mother has set up an appeal to help her seriously ill son.

Clare Stockton’s son, Finlay, was born with a rare brain disorder which has baffled doctors.

The condition means that the two-year-old has weak muscles and joints and is unable to sit unaided. He also has neurological problems and has to be fed via a tube.

His parents are hoping that a course of hydrotherapy will help build-up his strength.

The family are no closer to understanding what is wrong with their son. They are still waiting for the results of a series of tests.

This is a problem for Clare as without a diagnosis it is difficult to find a charity or organisation that can offer advice and support. She is resolved to the fact that she “Might never know what is wrong with him.”
