Restaurant ratings

How clean is your local café or restaurant? That was the question on Friday's Look North.

Hull City Council has rated over 1600 food premises based on the standards of hygiene. They are rated from excellent to very poor.

More than 200 premises in Hull are in the very poor category.

The new rating system is being used by six councils across the country and could eventually go national with cafes and restaurants being forced to display their results.

However, a number of restaurant owners are criticising the new points system claiming the ratings to be an unfair reflection on the standard of the whole premise.
