I spent much of the war as a Hospital Orderly. Atthe end of 1945 I joined the RAF and became a photographer. Spent loof my time on Sunderland Flying Boats, travelled by Sunderland to Rockall in 1946, taking Mr Seton Gordon. In 1947 was the photographer, again on Sunderlands, escorting HMS Vanguard down the Channel on her trip out to, and return from South Africa with King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, plus the two princesses.
Had a very interesting life (am noe 80 years old (or will be in four weeks) Was a schoolmaster in Saltcoats, Ayshire for a short while; in Pakistan with ROFUK Mission; Laboratory in RAF Akrotiri as Chemist in Charge.
I teach Scottish Country Dancing four evenings per week. Was Historian at Royal Arsenal Woolwich.
A busy life (supposed to have retired!!)
