What really happend on the East Anglian Coast line in Summer 1940 ?

What really happened in Summer 1940 around the East Anglian Coast Line.

Why so many bodies washed ashore, why so many nurses called from local hospitals, why lots of military convoys heading towards the coast.

Why has there been a block on public access for the Shingle Street file PRO Reference 207/1175 content "Evacuation of civil population from the village of Shingle Street in East Suffolk" 1939 - 1945.

Hi folks.

I have been past down a story from my father who over heard 2 stories when he was a child.

1st of all his mum told him that she recalled lots of nurses being called from Ipswich hospital and boarding military lorries towards the coast line of Felixstowe. News of a troopship that had left Ipswich docks had hit mines that were dropped from German bombers.

The 2nd story he heard is more sinister.
German landing craft attacked by flame barrages, (Sea of fire) after gallons of petrol and Oil from pipes across the beaches and sea.
Hundreds of bodies of burnt GERMAN soldiers washed ashore. This story has appeared on a BBC documentary claiming that the SOE had set this up as a propaganda stunt.

BUT.... After all these years and demand from local residents of Suffolk and articles in the East Anglian Daily Times, why have so many people come forward with knowledge of the events around Shingle Street.

Why has there been people from Germany and Belgium come forward claiming convoys of badly injured German troops loaded in to trains around the ports of Calais, Zeebrugge and Dunkirk.

Why was the Wife of the Mayor of Suffolk, when she was a girl stopped along with her father by MOD officials, when they were walking along Shingle Street Beach.

Why hasn't anybody done any soil analysis of the beaches, afterall Petrol and Oil can stay around in the ground for years. Why hasn't anybody surveyed the areas with Geophysical equipment, as it was claimed that the bodies were buried in the nearby fields. Afterall if there was a failed German Invasion, hard evidence would be the artifacts of German Tunic buttons, Jewellery, and also ammunition.
