Food was still rationed although the war was over in 1947. We had a 'panic' on in the camp.
The 'big brass' were about to come to search our dormitories, as food, particularly sugar, was disappearing from one of the 'gallies'.
I knew quite well who the culprit was, for I saw her with the goods, but we never would 'split' on a fellow wren. It just wasn't
on!
However I was furious for, due to her thieving we were ALL confined to camp until the culprit could be found!
This wren, who slept in the next bunk to me was taking the stuff out to 'friends ' outside and SELLING IT!
