On The Sea, Keats
Barry Chambers
Gold medal & Best English Poet's Garden
Wash away the mundane stresses of modern life and rejoice in the chaos of wild unbounded nature in this garden based on Keats’ poem, On the Sea. A sea cavern at the front of the garden frames views of wild sea-like planting, whilst Greco-Roman gods watch over from chalk cliffs.

On The Sea, Keats garden with sea cliff at front planted with wildflower meadow on the top. Sea bucktorn softens the cliff (right).

Sandstone paving representing the beach is softened by planting of white Antirrhinum, Stachys and the frothy heads of Ammi majus.
Crambe maritima – sea kale
Eryngium bourgatii 'Picos Amethyst'
Ammi majus - bullwort
Hippophae rhamnoides – sea buckthorn
