Band History

Darker Shores came about during the time that the 3 members shared a house in London.

All 3 had previously played in Earthcorpse and then Krius, both of which were 5 piece groups. But they quickly became tired of having to audition others to replace band members who had left to come home (for good reasons) and decided to go it alone as a 3 piece from the summer of 2005.

They spent 6 months writing their debut album 'Majestically Terrifying' and then proceeded to record it in the new year of 2006. The guys had also had enough of the London music scene after 5 years there and opted to move home to Guernsey in August. The last half of 2006 was spent re-adjusting to island life. But now they're ready to unleash themselves on the Guernsey scene!

In June 2007 the band released a statement saying that we would no longer see them perform as a three piece, which led to various rumours of the band splitting up.

However, at the 2007 Chaos Weekend, during the bands headlining set, they put the rumours to rest as they introduced Dano and Mark making Darker Shores into a five piece band with extra guitar and vocals.

In autumn 2008 the band released their second album, Hail Sarnia, before going on hiatus as Phil left the island

The Future

It remains to be seen where Darker Shores will go now, but they said they still plan on working together.

Their Favourite Gig

Phil said: "Best one? Probably the last one at The Fountain in Tottenham just before we moved back. While there weren't tons of people there, we had a good time and played really well. Daz nearly spontaneously combusted!"
