Although he's appeared in many high-profile movies over the years, David Thewlis is still best remembered for his searing performance in Mike Leigh's Naked. He's disdainful of some of his subsequent work (in particular The Island Of Dr Moreau and Seven Years In Tibet), but is happier with more recent choices, especially his Professor Lupin in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban. He plays a dodgy detective in Basic Instinct 2, but there will be even more dodgy goings on from 06.06.06 when he joins Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles in the remake of horror classic The Omen.
Basic Instinct 2 is released in UK cinemas on Friday 31st March 2006.
