Cathy Mager is an artist who creates immersive experiences that connect people through art, technology, and storytelling. In this event she presents the world premiere of a beguiling new film installation which will be played on MediaCity's outdoor screen during Contains Strong Language.

Mager's film explores the concept of 'Deaf Time' - the idea that d/Deaf people enjoy a richly different experience of time from others. Owen Sheers is a poet whose work has frequently explored the relationship between trauma and time, including a verse drama, Pink Mist, which looks at the struggles faced by soldiers in transitioning to normal life after being thrown into combat in Afghanistan; and the ongoing issues facing a Welsh community 60 years after the Aberfan tragedy. Joining them on stage today is a rising superstar of British ideas - Patricia Kingori. She leads a fascinating Oxford University research programme, After the End, which explores the surprising relationship between time and power. Chaired by Chris Hassan.
