Tell me about the mini-games
There are lots of fun mini-games in My Swashbuckle Adventure:
Pirate Cannons – hit the sea monsters with cannonballs
Swashbubbles – knock over the barrels in this pinball-inspired game
Vines Ahoy – swing across the vines without falling into the water
Coconutty Raft – throw coconuts into a barrel
Stepping Stones – jump across the stones to reach the other side
Deck Golf – knock cannonballs into holes on deck
Shark Racing – jump over obstacles while riding a shark
Walk the Plank – make a pirate walk the plank into the ship's mess!
What are the benefits of playing?
This game enables you to express yourself and role play by personalising your character.
Many of the mini-games help to develop hand-eye coordination – such as when you hop across stepping stones, grab swinging vines and fire cannons with the correct timing – and learn the basics of trajectories and angles. The difficulty level of each mini-game increases with play, providing an extra challenge, and ultimately leading to a greater sense of achievement.
Gaming is also a great way to connect with your child and boost their digital literacy and confidence in general. To find out more, head to CBeebies Parenting's guide on the importance of play.
