As consumer demand for cheaper and more varied fashion grows, rapidly refreshed high street collections are working hard to bring a conscience back to shoppers and unearth who is ultimately paying the price to make these clothes.
Ex-brand director for Topshop Jane Shepherdson is currently championing her collaboration with Oxfam’s awareness campaign to illustrate that recycling and refashioning second-hand clothes can be a stylish alternative to fast fashion. To aid her campaign, Shepherdson has enlisted the talents of Jonathan Saunders, Gilles Deacon, Henry Holland and Christopher Kane to revitalise the concept of ethical fashion and encourage a more individual, vintage inspired look.
