Monday morning has got off to a beautiful start with this week's tip - Gone Fission by the masterful Fatherson. Mixing heartfelt vocals with commanding guitars, they recall strains of Idlewild and Dashboard Confessional delighting audiences far and wide.

Starting life as Energy!, the band met at school in Kilmarnock and have already supported Feeder, Frightened Rabbit and Elliot Minor, been in session for Introducing's own Ally McCrae, plus played sold out shows at the legendary King Tut's in Glasgow.

2012 holds a debut album, supporting The Xcerts on their Scottish dates, plus appearances at multiple festivals culminating at T in the Park this summer.

The single is released on the Where The Water Meets The Land EP and can be downloaded for free on their Facebook page from the 7th May. In the meantime, wrap your ears around this certified crowd favourite.

A firm favourite of BBC Introducing in Wales - they have even played a gig in Jen Long's kitchen. Paper Shields is their second single after releasing White Horses through Kissability last year.

Tip of The Week: These Monsters - Live Some

Bringing some much needed rock to a Tuesday morning, Live Some is the first single taken from the new These Monsters album, Heroic Dose, produced by James Kenosha of Pulled Apart By Horses fame.

The single will be released through Role Model Corporate, a pioneering group of musicians and artists in Leeds modelling the DIY ethos. This collective works as inspiration and support for all the artists involved - managing tours, producing artwork and providing a place to rehearse and record.

These Monsters are founding members of this collective and practise what they preach by giving away the single for free at thesemonsters.com. When not at RMC, they have been performing various venues across Europe, gaining rave reviews from the likes of Kerrang and Clash Music, plus consuming huge amounts of cheese and wine. Rock and Roll.

Tip of The Week: Seasfire - Falling

Seasfire draw on their hometown of Bristol's rich heritage of trip hop and boundary-crossing music to produce melancholy songs full of love and loss.

Combining James Blake-esque beats with the intensity of Burial and the heart-wrenching lyrical sensibilities of Jeff Buckley; Josh, James, Joe and David write songs '...about the dead end relationships they've been in and the general feeling of hopelessness in unemployment - with too much time on their hands and dreaming of escape.'

Debut single Falling has already been played by Rob Da Bank and recently the band did a hauntingly beautiful session for Steve Lamacq at Maida Vale. This is 3am music that deserves around-the-clock attention.

Tip of the Week: Gabrielle Aplin - Home

When MTV call you 'as close to perfect as anything you’ll hear' and start making favourable comparisons to the untouchable Adele, you know you've got some pretty high expectations to live up to. Thankfully, Gabrielle Aplin fulfils these and more.

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter, record label owner and multi-instrumentalist has long been a favourite of Introducing, with her cover of Fix You being one of the most watched videos on our You Tube channel.

The single below, Home, comes from the new EP of the same name and has already spun charts around the world into a frenzy. As her army of fans and delighted critics continue to amass, now is the time to start raving about Ms Aplin.

Tip of The Week: Proxies - If I Had A Penny To My Name

Proxies draw influence from wherever they can, name checking Enter Shikari, Pendulum and 30 Seconds To Mars amongst those who have shaped their sound.

Jordan, Joe, Alex and Joshua formed the band whilst at university and soon gained renown for their energetic live performances. They've just been announced as the main support for Hadouken later this year, so there will be plenty of occasions to see them hit the stage with a bang.

In the meantime, enjoy the track below. If I Had A Penny To My Name mixes heavy electronica beats with rock sensibilities to create a persuasive debut single.

Tip Of The Week: Mikill Pane - I Can Feel It

Mikill Pane is totally obsessed with clever word play, and it's a passion that has served him well as he brings his lyrically inspired hip-hop jams to the playlist.

Hailing from Hackney, Mikill is best known for Little Lady, his massive selling collaboration with Ed Sheeran. He's just finished tours with both Ed and US rapper Mac Miller, and is gearing up to release his debut album, Blame Miss Barclay, later this year.

Championed by Huw and with artists such as Rizzle Kicks, Yasmin and Example knocking on his door, it looks like he won't be short of people to play Scrabble with.
