3. Footsie - Bag Of Grease (Produced by Darq E Freaker)
My third choice this month comes from Footsie - who along with D Double E makes up east London grime outfit, Newham Generals. Footsie's new single, Bag Of Grease, is produced by one of the most forward-thinking grime beat-makers out there right now, Darq E Freaker - who has made something quite dark and haunted for the legendary MC to flow over. For as long as I've known Footsie's music, he's always been about his grime. His hunger for the music still comes across in every track that he releases, which is great to see considering that he's been making grime for SO many years! Cop this track when it's released on May 29.

2. Sam Kay - Oh Gosh

My second pick this month comes from Sam Kay, who I placed on the top spot back in June 2011 with his track, Back To My Old Ways. On Oh Gosh, which comes from his forthcoming 'Every Day I Win' EP, Sam raps about not caring about what the naysayers have to say about your life or daily grind, and to just keep on doing what you feel is right for you. This tune stood out for me because it's really relatable to my situation right now. Sometimes you have to just have to go with what you feel is right, regardless of what others think. Big up Yellow on the production front too. Can't beat a tune with a deep message that you can also have a little ol' skank along to.

1. Stinkahbell & Psy:am Feat. P Money, Little Dee & Blacks - 'Hot Poo'

My number one track this month comes from Stinkahbell, Psy:am, P Money, Little Dee and Blacks with Hot Poo. Nice track title, right? Each MC rides the dubstep beat with ease, further confirming that grime and dubstep can work really perfectly together if done in the correct way. A solid banger for the clubs. The track is coming out on Plastician's Terror Rythhm label on May 28.

This is Joseph 'JP' Patterson's last entry for BBC Introducing, but be sure to keep following him on Twitter for all the latest music news.

3. Blizzard – Neckbreaker

My third track of the month comes from Blizzard, an MC based in Manchester. I have to be honest with you, I've known about this guy for a long time but I've never really followed his movement, well, until now. Being the battle rapper that he is, Blizzard's witty character comes across in his delivery, and that's what really caught my attention on Neckbreaker. He also produced the track, so he gets two thumbs up from me!

2. Kozzie – Yeah!

My second choice this month comes from one of the biggest MCs in grime right now, Kozzie. His new single, Yeah!, is produced by Birmingham's Preditah and we get to hear the south Londoner do what he does best, which is boasting about how great he is! (Laughs) But on a serious note, he's an interesting guy to listen to, just down to the way he attacks the beat alone.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Sleepin' Giantz (Rodney P, Zed Bias & Fallacy) – Badungdeng

My number one pick of the month comes from the legendary Rodney P, Zed Bias and Fallacy – who are now known as the newly-formed group, Sleepin' Giantz. I came across Badungdeng when I was editing an interview with Rodney P for MTV UK (The Wrap Up), and my house skank just took over! (Laughs) Rodney P mentioned that their album will be a mix of D&B, house, dubstep and hip-hop, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what they do to the UK music scene later this year and beyond.

3. Ego - Nuttum Like Back Then

My third track of the month comes from south London Family Tree member Ego. When reviewing Nuttum Like Back Then, I thought it sounded raw, gritty and quite rough around the edges. Production comes courtesy of Nytz, with a strong dubstep influence shining throughout and this track definitely has the potential to cause many-a-mosh pit.

2. EXO - They Call Me EXO

EXO

My second track of the month comes from one of my favourite rappers around right now, EXO. Hailing from north London, he has risen through the UK rap ranks alongside USG - a rap crew which includes the likes of K Koke, Squingy, etc. On the Show N Prove -produced hip-hop beat, EXO drops some bars to introduce himself to the world. EXO's big character comes through on They Call Me EXO, which is out now!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Teddy Music Feat. Lil Nasty, Double S, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten, Lady Leshurr & Tre Mission - 'Hoods Up' (Remix)

My number one track this month comes from Teddy Music, whose Newham Generals-assisted track - Doomed - I featured as my No. 1 track back in February. Teddy's new single, Hoods Up, features Ruff Sqwad, Ghetts, Roachee and Stutta on the original, but I personally prefer this remix. Lil Nasty, Double S, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten, Birmingham's Lady Leshurr and Canada's Tre Mission all run a lyrical relay race on the energetic grime production, showcasing some skillful styles and flows while they're at it. Catch the original and remix on iTunes from April 15.

3. Hitman - Ding Dong

My third track of the month comes from Hitman, a grime MC from Birmingham, and he's one of the main members of Invasion Alert. I've actually been speaking to this guy for years, like, from MySpace days, and I know he thinks that I haven't been listening out for his music, but I have - I just wanted to hear improvement on every front: content, flow and delivery. On Ding Dong, I heard a lot of improvement!

2. Pressure - In Birmingham

Pressure

My second track this month comes from, I think, one of StayFresh's best MCs, Pressure. The Birmingham spitter reps his ends to the fullest on this track, mentioning it almost every two seconds! His flow is very signature, and that's so important to have in today's copy-cat environment. Expect some exciting projects from Pressure, namely his upcoming Swifta Beater-produced EP, Grime Is Money.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: C4 Feat. JME, Frisco & Jammer - Off Track (BBK Remix)

My number one of the month comes from one of the most hyped and talked about MCs in grime at the moment, C4. Recently signed to the same management as Boy Better Know, the Birmingham-born rhymer hooked up with his team mates JME, Frisco and Jammer, for the remix of his popular grime song, Off Track - which is produced by his brother, Preditah. EVERYONE can relate to the message, and I think that's why it's had such a great response with not just grime-lovers, but music-lovers across the board. This, along with the original, is out now!

3. Dolla Da Dustman - Zoop! Zoop!

Right, so I’m currently on a mission to bring the term "zoop" back. In grime terms, it’s basically the same as "brap", but it was very short-lived. I tweeted about this issue the other week and Dolla Da Dustman sent me his tune which is also called Zoop! Zoop! It's a few months old, but it's appropriate for my current mission!

2. Mr Mitchell - On The Rooftop

My second track of the month is a little different, and it comes from Mr Mitchell who used to make up one half of Mike Skinner’s act, The Mitchell Brothers.

Mr. Mitchell

On this particular track, the rapper delivers a deep message about how he escapes life’s issues. I have literally had this on repeat for weeks! Out on March 25.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Rudimental Feat. MNEK & Syron - Spoons

My number one track of the month couldn’t be further away from the world of grime. Rudimental are a new production collective from east London, and they've created this deep house track featuring the mesmerising vocal talents of pop singers, MNEK and Syron. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, then you’ll know how much I love this track - I've been talking about non-stop for weeks! You can download the track for free on Facebook.

He’s joined forces with Stinkahbell to create this unique mix of spoken word and drum and bass. I just thought it was a really cool idea to mix the two, because I know a lot of people think that spoken word/poetry is quite boring, so this was refreshing to hear.

2. Nico Lindsay Feat. Kwam, Obese & Darkos - 'Is That What He Did'

I'll be totally honest with you. Due to whole new wave hype last year, I didn't really take notice of a lot of grime acts. Now that the new wave hype is officially over, I think it’s time to usher in some of grime's underdogs. So, my second track of the month comes from Nico Lindsay, Kwam, Obese and Darkos with 'Is That What He Did'. 2012 grime business!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Teddy Music Feat. Newham Generals - 'Doomed'

My number one track of the month comes from Teddy Music and MC outfit, Newham Generals. Both well-known names in the grime scene, Teddy and the Newham Generals – also known as D Double E and Footsie – all joined forces to create 'Doomed', which is a sinister-sounding grime treat for the ears. This track is the lead track from Teddy's new CD, 'The Grime Compilation', and you can catch the pretty epic video for it everywhere online and on TV.

Shystie

My third track of the month comes from three legendary grime MCs, Shystie, No Lay and Ghetts, with their track, Takeover. This single is the theme track to a recently released movie called, SKET. On the track, which is getting an official release in December, all three spitter's go hard! The production also has quite an old skool grime vibe about it, and that's what really caught my ear when I heard it a month ago.

2. SP - Glory

My second track of the month comes from SP, and he's an MC hailing from Birmingham. He sent me the link to this track a couple of weeks ago and I've literally been listening to it on repeat ever since. SP freestyles over Ryan Leslie's Glory and totally owns it. For an MC to spit over an R&B beat and do what has been done here, they deserve a pat on the back! Listen to the bars closely, it's quite deep.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Marger Feat. Josh Osho - This Year

My track of the month comes from an MC who I've featured in my top three many times before, and he goes by the name of Marger. Produced by Sibling, Marger teams up with Universal-signed Josh Osho for this catchy, mainstream-friendly track. Although it has got a strong mainstream vibe about it, Marger he keeps it 100% grime with the flow! Watch out for all three of these guys in 2012, because they're destined for big things.

3. Trauma – Go DJ

I had to come with something aggressive to start off with this month, and my third track of the month is definitely that. Birmingham-based Trauma is an MC who has been in my top three before with Light It Up, but he didn’t only light this track up – he blew it up! The aggressive delivery over the heavy bassline won me over. Screwface vibes!

2. Vader – Sort It Out

My second track of the month comes from another Birmingham MC, and he goes by the name of Vader. Now, Vader has only recently recovered from a brain haemorrhage – it was looking bleak for him a little while ago – but he’s pulled through and is totally committed to the music again. This track comes from his free mixtape, Road To Recovery, and it’s basically about how everyone in the scene should just leave all the beef to one side and unite, because the scene would be much bigger and stronger if everyone got along. He talks a lot of sense on this one.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Russo Feat. Scrufizzer – Laters I’m Off

My number one track of the month comes from a singer, who I’m loving at the moment, and her name is Russo. I recently wrote about Russo for NME Magazine and said that she reminded me of Lily Allen in her early days, simply because she's got that rude girl attitude and she's just a little bit ghetto with it, and I love everything about that! The dub-pop track is produced by Yo Video and features non-other-than grime spitter of the moment, Scrufizzer – making this an overall treat for the ears. Mark my words, these guys are going to be HUGE next year!

3. Scrufizzer - Boom

Young Kye

My third track of the month comes from an MC who has featured in my top tracks a few times now, his name is Scrufizzer. The young spitter jumped on an instrumental made by Birmingham's producer of the moment, Preditah, and absolutely smashed it! Scrufizzer's rapid flow compliments the bouncy grime production. Preditah is getting a lot of love from the London grime scene right now, and you can see why after hearing Boom.

2. Young Kye Feat. Manga - I Kill It

My second track of the month comes from Young Kye. Now, I've known Young Kye for a couple of few years now, and it's been really good to see him musically grow. He jumped on a ZDOT and 4th Side production - alongside Roll Deep's Manga - for this dark, grimey hip-hop number. I was highly impressed with both MCs' deliveries on this track - the wordplay is also next level.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Deadeye Feat. Nat Powers - One Life

My number one track of the month actually comes from a good friend of mine from Leicester, and he goes by the name of Deadeye. Back in the day, myself and Deadeye would drive up and down the country to bassline raves and he would always freestyle - he was good. I remember always telling him to seriously consider jumping on the music thing properly and focus - he clearly took the advice. On One Life, the rapper teamed up with Nat Powers - who produced the track and sung the hook - for this very emotional, and quite inspirational, track about the ups and downs of life. In other news, watch out for the rest of the his crew, Gwop Sqwad, because they're about to put Leicester on the map.

3. Zeo Zeonardo Feat. Zoe – Back Into Time

My third track of the month comes from two of Wolverhampton’s finest, Zeo Zeonardo and Zoe. Zeo is an MC who has made a name for himself within the bassline music scene, as well as Zoe – who has sung on some of bassline’s most recognizable tracks. The two have teamed up on Back Into Time, a nice summery track about the good ol’ days!

2. Stormer – Cotton Buds

Grime MC Stormer

My second track of the month comes from Stormer, who is an MC and member of well-known grime collective, OGz. On this Rude Kid-produced track, we see Stormer attack the hard-hitting beat, almost as if he’s battling against it.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Discarda – Pleny Flows

My track of the month comes from Discarda, an east London-born MC who has been in and out of the grime scene for a few years now. Recently, though, Discarda has been getting back on his musical grind: performing at various live events and doing a lot more radio sets. On the DJ Myrikal-produced track, ‘Pleny Flows’, we see Discarda unleash that angry, hype flow – which he’s so notoriously known for.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH: Hector Bizerk - Fat Cat

The drum-heavy intro on Hector Bizerk's track, Fat Cat, won me over immediately. His delivery is extremely clear due to the nature of the production - which allows him to flow smoothly. The dubstep breakdown is also worthy of praise.

3. Trauma – Light It Up

My third track of the month comes from Birmingham’s Trauma. He’s an up-and-coming MC who has been releasing quality grime music for a little while now, it’s just a shame that he – along with a lot of underground artists from outside of London’s close knit grime community – don’t get shown the love that they deserve. On Turn It Up, we see Trauma team up with DJ Pantha, who provides the skippy beat for him to effortlessly flow over.

2. Marger Feat. Molly – Shadows (Preditah Remix)

My second track of the month comes from an MC who has been featured in my tracks of the month before, and he goes by the name of Marger. The east Londoner teamed up with popstress Molly for his latest single, Shadows. The original is pretty epic, it has a real mainstream feel to it, but this Preditah remix is also pretty amazing!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Ill Murk – Woy Yoy

My number one track of the month comes from Northampton MC, Ill Murk. He’s someone that I’ve known for years and he's probably the only person from Northampton who has continually made good grime music. On Woy Yoy, Ill Murk cleverly tackles the issue of not being a member of London’s music scene, because like I said before, it’s not all about London – there are acts doing their thing outside of the M25 too! Nice dubby vibe on this one…

3. DJ Cubzy Feat. MNT – That’s Who

My third track of the month comes from Leicester’s MNT and Coventry’s DJ Cubzy. MNT is well-known within the up North and Midlands bassline scene for his party-style bars and flow, but he has taken that style and adapted it to the very bassy UK funky track, That’s Who.

2. Dream Mclean Feat. Ceaser – Golden

My second track of the month comes from Essex-born MC, Dream Mclean. He’s one of the artists representing the whole new wave movement taking place at the moment. But unlike a lot of the other newbies in the scene, he’s bringing something a bit more deeper to the table, in terms of lyrical content – which you get a feeling of on Golden.

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Lady Leshurr – Too Much

My number one track this month is actually an exclusive! My close friend, Hyperfrank – who is also a well-known underground music journalist – put together a series called Volume Control, in which an MC of her choice spits over a beat voted for by the fans. Past participants include: Dot Rotten, Griminal, Durrty Goodz and more recently, Fem Fel. In the final edition of the series, Birmingham’s Lady Leshurr picked up the mic and represented for the ladies on the Neon Beats-produced track, Too Much.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH: Church Of Last When – Under The Last Dust

Church Of Last When’s track, Under The Last Dust, has quite a spoken word feel to it. The delivery is quite poetic and it's complimented nicely by the dark production.

3. Russo Feat. Dot Rotten – Bad Tonight

Third choice pick this month is Russo

My third place track of the month comes from a relatively new act from south London called Russo. She’s reminds me a bit of Ms Dynamite in her earlier days – raw and edgy. Dot Rotten adds some complex lyricism to compliment Russo’s Yo-Video-produced track, Bad Tonight. Loving the R&B/dubstep vibe.

2. JaJa Soze – Beef With Demons

Not only am I a big grime fan, but I'm also loving what the UK undergroup rap music scene is doing at the moment. The man behind my second track of the month is JaJa Soze, one of the more popular artists within the rap scene right now. JaJa and the rest of his crew really put south London rap music on the map and were one of the first to really get this whole road rap phenomenon off the ground, back in the day. On Beef With Demons, JaJa shares his thoughts on the music industry, life on the roads and religion. Very deep!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Sam Khan – Back To My Old Ways

My number one track this month comes from a guy called Sam Khan. He’s one of the few Asian MCs who have managed to make an impression on the underground music scene, which he explains in a lot of detail on Back To My Old Ways. I was not only impressed by the delivery, but the futuristic grime production from Newcastle’s Rimshox was also next level.

This month was much more about lyrical content, as opposed to the usual hype tracks that I tend to choose, and I feel that Sam Khan really took it there.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH: Profisee – Hold Up

Profisee rides the well-made grime production from Starkey effortlessly here. Hold Up is about being held hostage, but picture yourself in a club, where you’re told to put your hands up and dance to the music, or else! Really clever concept.

3. Movez – Grind Like Dem

My third track of the month comes from an MC from Wolverhampton called, Movez. The StayFresh member sent me this track a little while ago, but it’s become somewhat of a regular feature on my iTunes playlist. The bassy, Screama-produced hip-hop production compliments Movez’ skippy flow. Definitely one of my favourite MCs from the Midlands right now.

2. SP Feat. Funtcase – Let’s Play (Gorrila Flex Remix)

Another MC who has impressed me from the Midlands is SP, hailing from Birmingham. He has teamed up with Funtcase, who produced the track, for this dubstep head-banger. If you like dark, dirty, dubstep that you can shake a leg to, then you’ll enjoy this one!

1. TRACK OF THE MONTH: Dot Rotten – Resurrect Young Dot

My number one track this month comes from south London grime MC, Dot Rotten. This lyricist has been around for many years now and having just been snapped up by Mercury Records, he’s about to be around for a little while longer! When I heard Resurrect Young Dot, I found myself screwing up my face like if I was at a grime rave in 2006. It took me back to a place of how I used to feel when I heard grime back in the day – excited! Dot Rotten was also called Young Dot, so we see him bringing back his grime self on this track, proving that he can still do that hard grime, even though you might see him dabble in a bit of mainstream stuff here and there.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH: Hector Bizerk – Burst Love

Scottish hip-hop lyricism on top form. Simple.

3. White Powder Gold - Can't Stop Me Now (Lewi White Dubstep Remix)

This one comes from a new indie band called White Powder Gold. I was asked by their record label, TwentyOne Records, to hook up a few remixes for their track, Can’t Stop Me Now, and I decided to get Devlin’s main producer, Lewi White, to put something dark and gritty together and that’s exactly what he did with this. It’s got a really haunted feel to it. Come to think of it, most of my tunes this month have that feel...

2. Context MC - Listening To Burial

My second track of the month comes from Norwich’s very own Context MC. This guy made a really big impact when he released a track called Off With Their Heads a few months ago, and the video went down well with fans as well as music critics (I was actually featured in the video... watching myself back on telly is never cool). His latest track, Listening To Burial, produced by Slof Man, is another laid-back number. It's got a real summery vibe to it.

TRACK OF THE MONTH

1. Dimples Feat. Neeko, Calibar, Random Impulse, Black The Ripper & Rival, J Money, Big Narstie - Groundwork (Rude Kid Remix)

My favourite track of the month comes from North London-based grime MC, Dimples. He’s actually been around for a little while now, but lately it seems like his name/music has been taking off a lot more in the underground scene. He’s teamed up with fellow grime legends – Random Impulse, Black The Ripper, J Money, Big Narstie, Neeko, Calibar and Rival – for a new grime anthem that they’re calling Groundwork, the haunted Rude Kid remix.

SCOTTISH TRACK OF THE MONTH
Dead Set Gemini - No One Can Hear You Scream (Produced by Double L)

The title of the track pretty much sums this track up. Just like the tracks above - haunted! All of the tracks I’ve chosen this month have a really dark feel to the production and this is no exception. Dead Set Gemini's hooks are catchy and their flows are tight. Don't miss their session tracks on Ally's show.
