Autumnwatch

It's the final weekend of the Autumnwatch Live webcams. The team are focusing their cameras on the smallest and rarest of the swans found in the British Isles, the Bewick's swan. They migrate to the UK each autumn to escape the harsh winter conditions of their Siberian breeding grounds.

Around 300 of these magnificent birds make the perilous 2,000 mile trip to spend the winter at WWT Slimbridge. Winters in the UK might not feel mild to us sensitive soles but compared to Arctic Russia for these swans it's positively tropical.

In addition to the live pictures we're also running a series of interviews by naturalist and broadcaster Chris Sperring. Chris is speaking to experts from Slimbridge and beyond to discover the natural history of the Bewick's swans, of the other species at the centre and of the estuary itself as autumn turns to winter. Tune in for some fascinating analysis.

Also on Red Button, we have a seasonal selection of photos. The images are chosen by the web team from pictures viewers have uploaded to the Autumnwatch Flickr group.

Autumnwatch

The Autumnwatch webcams are back! We have live action from the Bewick's swan lake at the Slimbridge Reserve.

The Autumnwatch team have chosen the swans because they meet their three criteria: concentration (can remote pan-and-tilt cameras capture the action?), spectacle (does the subject matter look great?) and character (can you follow individuals' stories?).

Family groups jostle for position in the pecking order ©James Lees / WWT

The swans spend most of their day in an area not much bigger than a football pitch. Thanks to 40 years of research by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, a great deal is known about the returning swans.

Some of the families are long established dynasties and have been coming back to the lake in the Rushy Pen for an amazing 50 years. What's more, it's possible to identify each individual swan by the pattern of yellow and black on its bill.

There are 90 swans at Slimbridge at the moment but that number should swell to close to 300 by the time the Red Button webcams finish on 27 November.

BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards are a chance for you to recognise some of your own personal heroes in your everyday life and in the celebrity world.

We asked you to nominate someone out there, so amazing, that you think the world needs to hear about them. Your nomination could have been a sibling, carer, fundraiser or just a great mate. As long as they have done something truly out of the ordinary or selfless, are aged between 12 - 17 years and live in the UK they could be nominated.

All of the entries were reviewed by our team at Radio 1 and a shortlist has been created. The shortlist is then presented to a panel of celebs and experts who will decide on the winners.

We also asked you to vote for your favourite person or persons for Best British Single, Young Sporting Hero, Album, TV Show and Music Act from a shortlist created by our panel.

The winners will be announced and presented with their awards on Sunday 9th October at the Teen Awards. Nick Grimshaw and Mollie (The Saturdays) will be hosting the awards and your fave pop stars will be performing live!

If you can't be there in person, watch the performances and the award presentations live here on BBC Red Button.
