On Monday 3 December 2007 the former Pop Idol finalist switched on the festive lights at butchers Jennings of Caversham. Watch the video here! Watch the video here: Help playing audio/video It all started when news broke of 2005 X Factor winner Shayne Ward heading to Slough to switch on Slough's Christmas lights.  Butcher taking a butchers at Soose Discussing the event on Andrew Peach's breakfast programme, sidekick Susanne 'Soose' Courtney - herself a finalist on Pop Idol 2004 - pined to switch on some festive lights herself. Along came an offer from butcher Jennings of Caversham to make their window twinkle with their annual light switch-on. Soose jumped at the chance. And so on Monday 3 December she headed over to the butcher for the grand event.  Santa and Soose (and a sausage) Among the turkey, goose, pickles and stuffing, and after sampling a delicious sizzling sausage, Soose flicked the switch that transformed the meaty window display into a sparkly Christmas wonderland. Afterwards Soose told Andrew Peach, tongue firmly in cheek: "In this season of goodwill I'd just like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity, for taking pity on a poor Pop Idol reject back in 2004 and elevating me to such dizzy heights."
