A feasibility study will look into the new proposals |
Plans for a marina in Bridlington have been resurrected just two months after the government rejected a 60m scheme for the resort. East Riding of Yorkshire Council's original proposals for a 500-berth marina were turned down because of the potential environmental impact.
The ruling was based on the amount of reclaimed land which would have been used for shops and offices.
But councillors discussed new proposals for a scaled-down marina at South beach on Tuesday and have agreed to commission a feasibility study.
Local MPs will also be canvassed for their opinions on the project.
Supporters of the original scheme said it would have created 650 new jobs and attracted thousands of visitors to the town.
