Man killed in Macedonia election tension
The authorities in Macedonia say an ethnic Albanian gunman has been killed and two others injured in a shoot-out with police near the town of Tetovo.

The latest killing comes ahead of Sunday's parliamentary elections, the first since a bloody uprising by ethnic Albanian guerrillas last year.

The rebellion ended with an internationally-brokered peace deal offering greater political representation for the ethnic Albanian minority.

The BBC correspondent in Skopje says despite a recent rise in tensions in north-western Macedonia, the run-up to the elections has passed off free of significant violence.
