Villagers call for flood protection

The Environment Agency says it is looking at several options
Residents of two villages say they welcome a review into flood defences.

People living in Wraysbury and Old Windsor in Berkshire are unhappy about the Jubilee River, a flood channel built to alleviate floods in Maidenhead.

They say that while it prevented flooding in Maidenhead, it made the situation worse for those living downstream.

A pressure group from the area, Thames Awash, have been in talks with the Environment Agency, to demand a similar flood channel.

The agency says it is looking at the situation, and carrying out a review of flood defences around Wraysbury and Ham Island.
